Welcome to Arua Diocese.
Arua Diocese was cut off from Gulu Diocese and erected as a diocese on June 23rd 1958. Its patrons are Sacred Heart of Jesus and Our Lady Mediatrix of all Graces. The first Bishop of Arua Diocese from 1958 to 1984 was Rt. Rev Bishop Angelo Tarantino of the Comboni Missionaries.
The Rt. Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki. Born at Layibi, Gulu Archdiocese on 8th August 1957. Ordained Priest on 10th Sept. 1983. On 22nd July 2006 His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI elected him Auxiliary Bishop of Gulu Archdiocese. On 21st Oct. 2006 consecrated Auxiliary Bishop of Archdiocese of Gulu by His Grace John Baptist Odama. On 19th August,2009 he was appointed Apostolic Administrator “sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis” of Arua diocese.
On 19th August, 2009 Pope Benedict XV1 accepted his resignation as Bishop of Arua diocese and appointed His Lordship the Right Reverend Sabino Ocan Odoki, Auxiliary Bishop of Gulu, Apostolic Administrator.
