Today the 31st of October 2025 in the Diocesan Boardroom –Jinja Rubaga, His Grace Most Rev. Emmanuel Obbo, A.J., Metropolitan Archbishop of Tororo, took canonical possession of the Diocese of Jinja as the Apostolic Administrator “sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis” of the Diocese of Jinja. The Decree of the Dicastery for Evangelization, Section for First Evangelization and the New Particular Churches, dated October 29, 2025, was read to the College of Consultors, in the presence of the Diocesan Chancellor (Can. 382, par. 3). The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Apostolic Nunciature in Uganda, Fr. Georges Kwami Kouwonou, was also present.
