The Holy Father Pope Leo XIV has Appointed His Excellency Most Rev. Tomasz Grysa, Titular Archbishop of Rubicon, as the new Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda

Until his appointment as Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda, His Excellency Most Rev. Tomasz Grysa has been Apostolic Nuncio to Madagascar, Seychelles and the Republic of Mauritius, and Apostolic Delegate to Comoros and La Reunion.

Born on 16th October 1970 in Poznan (Poland), he was ordained priest for the Archdiocese of Poznan on 25th May 1995.

The New Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda has a doctorate in Canon Law. He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See on 1st July 2001. Having served in different Pontifical Representations – Russian Federation, India, Belgium, Mexico, Brazil, UN Permanent Mission (New York), Israel – and Apostolic Nuncio to Madagascar and Apostolic Delegate to Comoros and La Reunion on 27th September 2022. Subsequently he was also appointed Apostolic Nuncio to the Seychelles on 9th February 2023 and then to Republic of Mauritius on 21st March 2023.

The New Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda apart from Polish knows Italian, French, English, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian.
