Apostolic Nuncio Urges Christians to Repent and Bear Fruit During Bishop Sabino’s 20th Episcopal Anniversary

Christians of Arua Diocese warmly welcomed the Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda, His Excellency Most Rev. Thomasz Grysa, during the celebration of the 20th Episcopal Anniversary of Rt. Rev. Dr. Sabino Ocan Odoki on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

The celebration brought together the faithful to mark two decades of episcopal ministry by Bishop Sabino Ocan Odoki, reflecting on his service to the Church and the spiritual growth of the diocese.

In his homily, Archbishop Grysa emphasized that the mission of proclaiming the Gospel is not the responsibility of the bishop alone but a shared responsibility among shepherds in the Church. He called on Church leaders to remain committed to spreading the Good News and guiding the faithful in their Christian journey.

Reflecting on the Gospel message, the Apostolic Nuncio urged Christians to embrace repentance and demonstrate genuine transformation through their daily lives. He warned against becoming like a barren tree that fails to bear fruit, reminding the faithful of the importance of living out their faith through good deeds.

His message challenged Christians to examine their spiritual lives, turn away from sin, and produce fruits that reflect their commitment to Christ.

The 20th Episcopal Anniversary of Bishop Sabino Ocan Odoki provided an opportunity for the faithful of Arua Diocese to celebrate his episcopal journey while renewing their commitment to the mission of the Church.

The celebration also served as a reminder that every Christian is called to contribute to the proclamation of the Gospel and to bear lasting fruits of faith, love, and service to others.
